Snow in Texas?

Apparently it DOES snow in Texas. Everett and I headed out to brave the cold and have some fun.

At first he wasn't sure what to think.

Once I sat him in the snow, he started to play.

11 Months

11 months already! I can't believe that pretty soon I will have to start counting in years. It seems like just yesterday that Everett was a tiny little newborn. Time goes so fast; especially when you're having fun.

Fun is all that Everett has ever been. He has an infectious smile and is ALWAYS happy. I'm serious, it is a rare occasion for Everett to be grumpy. Most of the time he just runs around the house grinning and laughing. When he's in a really good mood, he'll run over to the couch and pat it with his hands and laugh and laugh. Ryan and I haven't figured out why he thinks this is so funny, but we thoroughly enjoy watching him play. Everett loves to hang out in just a diaper. As soon as I get his clothes off he takes off running. We usually humor him and chase him for awhile before catching him.

New Milestones this month:

1) 2nd top tooth - he now has 4 teeth.
2) He learned how to stand up on his own. He no longer need to use a stationary object to stable himself.
3) A love for diamond earrings. Ryan gave me beautiful diamond earrings for Christmas, and whenever I wear them Everett tries to eat them off of my ears - it's hilarious.
4) Jabber, Jabber, Jabber - Everett loves to make sounds.
5) He continues to love books and going to the library.
6) Everett loves to play with daddy. Favorite games include chasing each other around the house and getting tossed up into the air.
7) The toilet. Everett loves the toilet. He opens the lid and starts splashing in the water in a split second. Needless to say, we've had a lot of baths.
8) Everett is finally getting hair. Next month he may need a hair cut.

We love you Everett!

In Case you're in need of an Everett Fix

Here are some pictures.

Everett now has 4 teeth. I love that you can see his top two in the this picture. He has also graduated to a toddler car seat!

Everett loves to go to the mall and play at their play gym.

Great Grandma Godsey gave Everett this car and he loves it!

Both Everett and I have had a cold this week. For dinner one night I went to Jamba Juice and it was a big hit with this little guy.

Everett's New Trick

Yesterday Everett took his first steps. Ryan and I couldn't believe our eyes. Today we caught it on video.

9 Months!

Everett is 9 months old! This was a BIG month for Everett and mommy is having a hard time with the fact that her little baby is turning into a big boy.

Here's what Everett's been up to this month:
- He cut his first tooth on Thanksgiving day. I guess he really wanted some turkey. Next year Everett.

- About a week ago he started to stand by himself for a few minutes and then yesterday he surprised his dad and me by taking 3 steps. We couldn't believe our eyes.

- He recently discovered a love for books. He'll sit on the floor and flip through the pages while jabbering to himself. He also likes to sit in our lap and listen, but his attention span is short.

- Eating has become a chore. Everett has always been a really good eater, but lately he is not interested in eating. Mom and Dad have had to come up with a lot of tricks to get him to eat - using a big boy spoon, making Everett laugh and then sneaking a bite in, flying the spoon through the air etc.

- Everett loves to go to the park, Bouncing Off The Walls, and basically anywhere there are other kids to play with. He is a very social little boy.

- Everett is a big boy. He weighs 22 lbs 8 oz (79%), Height 29.3 inches (81%), and he definitely has a Butters head - 47 cm (90%). Keep growing Everett. We love you!

Got to love that smile.

1st Halloween

Today is Everett's first Halloween. It was a very eventful day for him. We went to lunch at Zupas with Grandma and Grandpa and lots of aunts, visited Great Grandma at the hospital, and then dressed in our costume and went to Grandma and Grandpa's for dinner. We had a fun day, but missed our daddy. Be safe on the road Dad!

Isn't he the cutest puppy dog you've ever seen?

Happy Halloween!

Such a Good Dad

I was just looking through pictures and came upon this one. Isn't is great? I think so. It completely captures the love and care Ryan has for Everett.

I love you Ry, thanks for being a great dad and husband. I miss you! Be safe driving.

Eight Months

My little boy is now eight months old. I've said this a million times, but I still can't believe how fast he is growing. Everyday is different and it is such a joy to see him experiment and learn. Some of his new favorite tricks include:

1. Pulling him-self up to the standing position using a stationary object. This new trick has caused several bumps on the head. I try to be there every second, but sometimes I fail and then feel guilty for the rest of the day.
2. Patty cake. He now claps his hands when we say patty cake or just when he wants some attention.
3. He recently started to say "ma-ma-ma-ma-ma-ma". This is more of a noise than a word, but still cute.
4. When we give him a bottle and put him to bed he pats me or his dad on the cheek the entire time. We think it is adorable. It's his little way of saying I love you.
5. Everett loves to go on walks and take baths. He flails his arms and squeals with joy whenever he hears the bath water running.

He is a sweetheart and fills his parents hearts with joy everyday!
