We gave Everett his first bath when he was 8 days old and we quickly realized that this little man LOVES the water. As soon as we put him in the water he stretches his arms above his head and smiles a smile that would melt anyone's heart. I hope you enjoy the pictures of our little angel.

Counting Down the Days
Friday was my last day of work. Although I am excited to move into the next chapter of my life, it was hard to leave behind my friends and the projects I've been working so hard on. Luckily I have a very smart and sweet husband; he picked me up from work on Friday prepared with fuel for my break down. He brought me a Gatorade, a listening ear, and an arm to cry on. What a sweetheart! It's funny that he anticipated my "meltdown" because I sure didn't. I guess he knows me better than I do. After a 25 minute drive to the doctor with tears flowing most of the way I finally pulled myself together and was able to make some sense of the unknown future.
The doctor says everything looks great. We had an ultrasound two weeks ago and it appears that I have one large baby inside me. I say he just takes after his dad and has a big head, but only time will tell. Two days until the due date and there is no sign of this little man coming into the world; I know I just need to be patient, but we are so excited to meet him!
While we are waiting we are trying to stay busy. Ryan is training for the Boston Marathon. He's up to 17 miles in one run and about 25-30 miles a week. I am so proud of him. He has always talked about doing a marathon and now he is running the Boston Marathon with his friends and brother, Derek. The one thing I admire most about Ryan is his ambition. He not only can do anything he wants, but he has the drive to actually go and accomplish it. I am so grateful to have such a hard working husband.
No marathons for me for awhile. I primarily stick to walking on the treadmill and my mileage never comes close to Ryan's 25. Maybe next year, but I think I might stick to the triathlons.
Hopefully next time I'll have photos of a handsome son to post. Stay tuned...

Since I've Been Gone...
Well I have been absent for a quite a while. So I will attempt to summarize the last few months. Ryan and I flew to Salt Lake for Christmas. We were able to spend two whole weeks and it was our most relaxing trip home yet. Finally we didn't feel like we were running to see everyone we wanted to see. We thoroughly enjoyed spending time with our family and friends. Favorite gifts...Car Seat and Gold Toe Socks.
A Christmas Carol at Hale Theater with the Buchan's and Butters
A Christmas Carol at Hale Theater with the Buchan's and ButtersAs soon as we arrived back in Boston we started preparing for the arrival of our son. We borrowed a rocking chair from a friend, setup the pack n' play, and purchased a few necessary odds and ends. I think we are ready...famous last words right?
About two weeks ago two of my best friends threw me a fabulous shower. I was so touched by all the work my friends put into the shower and how many people came to support me. I have the best friends and am so grateful for all their love, support, and advice.

35 Weeks
Please forgive Taryn's absence from the blogging community. As you can imagine balancing work, the holidays, and 25 extra pounds tends to send a beautiful mother-to-be's "center of gravity" a little off balance.
Nevertheless, if you know Taryn, you know she's doing marvelously. She's happy, healthy, and excited for our little man to show up.
Living by the creed of "it is often better to ask forgiveness, not permission*," I'm posting some pictures I took of her the other night. I'm grateful for her willingness to be my Super Model! Enjoy.

*Ultimately, I did ask for permission....
