Friday was my last day of work. Although I am excited to move into the next chapter of my life, it was hard to leave behind my friends and the projects I've been working so hard on. Luckily I have a very smart and sweet husband; he picked me up from work on Friday prepared with fuel for my break down. He brought me a Gatorade, a listening ear, and an arm to cry on. What a sweetheart! It's funny that he anticipated my "meltdown" because I sure didn't. I guess he knows me better than I do. After a 25 minute drive to the doctor with tears flowing most of the way I finally pulled myself together and was able to make some sense of the unknown future.
The doctor says everything looks great. We had an ultrasound two weeks ago and it appears that I have one large baby inside me. I say he just takes after his dad and has a big head, but only time will tell. Two days until the due date and there is no sign of this little man coming into the world; I know I just need to be patient, but we are so excited to meet him!
While we are waiting we are trying to stay busy. Ryan is training for the Boston Marathon. He's up to 17 miles in one run and about 25-30 miles a week. I am so proud of him. He has always talked about doing a marathon and now he is running the Boston Marathon with his friends and brother, Derek. The one thing I admire most about Ryan is his ambition. He not only can do anything he wants, but he has the drive to actually go and accomplish it. I am so grateful to have such a hard working husband.
No marathons for me for awhile. I primarily stick to walking on the treadmill and my mileage never comes close to Ryan's 25. Maybe next year, but I think I might stick to the triathlons.
Hopefully next time I'll have photos of a handsome son to post. Stay tuned...
