Taryn and I are pleased to announce the birth of our second boy: Sherman James Butters. Our first son Everett will be assuming the role of big brother effective immediately.

Origin of name: Taryn and I hoped to give this baby a name with rich heritage and undeniable "manliness". Sherman James is named after his paternal grandfather and maternal great-grandfather, two men of exceptional character, integrity, and nearly 160 years (and counting) of selfless dedication to their families and community. To our surprise, it is also ridiculously cute to hear Everett say "baby Sherman".
Although it took quite a while to get him here, there were no significant complications; both mother and baby are healthy and doing well.

Love you and are so happy all went well. Thanks for sharing the photos and updating things so quickly. Oscar thinks he is the cutest baby ever to be born. Benjamin loves the look on Everett's face while begging to hold his new baby brother. Everyone is so pleased to have another cousin. Already counting the days to July!

Next time I think about texting Ryan to see if he's at the BYU-Texas game one week after his second child is born, I'll be sure to check the blog first.
Awesome. Too bad he couldn't have waited two more days to share his birthday with his pops. So selfish. Very un-Sherman like.
